Dear LWWI,
I run a group in London called the London Cultureseekers Group and i wondered if your W.I group might be interested in getting involved?

http://www.cultureseekers.org/

We meet up most weekends to explore London's fantastic history and culture through it's museums, art galleries, historical buildings, go on guided walks and go to the theatre.

The group has over 3000 members, from 25 - 75 years old and we have been running over 4 years.

Membership fee is £12 and if you join now your membership will not expire until December 2011.

We are a very friendly group and it's a fantastic way to explore London whilst making new friends.

Regards

London Bee Summit - 16th December

Bees are in peril and there are a number of suspects, from pesticides to climate change. With human wellbeing so intimately tied to the fate of the bee, we are calling together organisations working with bees in London and the UK to ask: what’s happening to the honey bee? And what can Londoners to do help?

We'll have the inaugural London Honey Tasting, a display of hives and equipment, and refreshments courtesy of the Co-op's Plan Bee.

Speakers include:

Environment minister Lord Henley
Dr Opi Outhwaite from Greenwich University on bee health and regulation;
Nick Fraser from the National Trust on managing parks and gardens without chemicals; and
Elinor McDowall from Bungay Community Bees, the UK's first community-supported beekeeping.

Registration is essential and there's a discount for Capital Growth spaces. Find more information and the booking form at: www.capitalbee.org

The event will raise awareness and funds for locally based charity, The New Victoria Medical Foundation, and takes place in the luxurious surroundings of The Bingham, boutique hotel and restaurant. Each act will be asking friends and contacts to sponsor them. Hosting the show will be television presenter and Richmond resident, Gabby Logan who is also in training to tell a few jokes and a few funny anecdotes about her life with the BBC sports presenting team. Each woman performing will have been mentored for her performance by the Funny Women team and a few of their favourite comedy acts.
