February Round Up

Craft Club: Cross Stitch
At our February Craft Club we tried our hand at counted cross stitch; most of us were relative beginners, so we were using little kits, but of course Emma was doing something much more adventurous!
Our March club will be crochet - come try your hand at treble stitches and granny squares, and enjoy a cup of coffee and a natter at the same time! All welcome, from beginners to experts. See our Craft Club page for more information.

Monthly Meeting - Bees
At our regular monthly meeting on Wed 17th March we welcomed Tristram Sutton from the London Beekeepers' Association (http://www.lbka.org.uk/) who gave us a fascinating talk about bees and urban beekeeping (and we got some flower seeds to take away and plant/scatter to make London an even more bee friendly place!)

We Need a Treasurer!
We currently have a vacancy on the committee for a Treasurer, an essential post to keep our WI running. Jane has been brilliant for the past few years, but is moving on to pastures new. Training will be given, so if any member is willing to take this on please email us at londonwestendwi@gmail.com for more information on what's involved. Thank You!!

FEBRUARY MEETING

Wednesday 17th February 2016, 6.30pm

Our February meeting is all about beekeeping and honey, with a talk by the London Beekeepers' Association.

The London Beekeepers' Association (LBKA) represents the interests of beekeepers and urban beekeeping in the central London area. They provide education and advice, promoting responsible bee keeping and raising awareness of the issues affecting bees.

Come along and learn more about urban beekeeping, and what we can do to help save the honeybee. We might even have some London honey for you to try!

You can find out more on the web about the London Beekeeper's Association, and you might also like to find out more about the SOS For Honeybees WI Campaign which began in 2009.
